Fr. Basil’s Paschal Letter 2026

Beloved Brothers, Sisters, and Friends of St. Nicholas,

Christ is Risen! Indeed, He is Risen!  Христосъ воскресе! Воистину воскресе! Χριστὸς ἀνέστη! Ἀληθῶς ἀνέστη!

“This is the Day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 117:24 LXX)

What a joyous Day this is! The deep sadness and the somber reflections of Holy Week are past, and now the faithful turn their eyes from the Cross and death to the empty tomb and brilliant Light of Life. Enjoy this light! Embrace this light! This is the foundation of our faith. This is our confidence in the promises of Christ. Look in the Tomb. He is not here! He is risen as He foretold!

Pascha is the “feast of feasts” and “holy day of holy days!” Today we celebrate the resurrection of Christ and His great victory over death, sin, and the bondage of Hades. “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? Thanks be to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, we have the victory” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57).

With Warm Greetings and Blessings,
